Instructions
| Take 1 stop good wine and pour it into a clean pot. Add 1 pund sugar or castonnade but /with the latter/ then it will turn yellow, some cinnamon, as large as a nut, some white or long pepper, twelve cloves, mace, a "fresh" apple, peeled and sliced. Soak for half an hour, add half a dozen crushed almonds and pour it into a stocking with some organge water, two or three times. |
